The next four images are of Clippings, the newsletter of The Potomac Bonsai Association. I accepted the position of Editor of this publication in April of 2013.
My goal is to elevate the professionalism of Clippings on many levels. The aesthetic boost from my redesign of the publication has created a buzz which has attracted readers, writers and advertisers.
Using Adobe InDesign CS4 for the first redesign of the publication allowed me to create inviting layouts not possible in previous editions.
Clippings will undergo a further, less extensive redesign for the Fall Edition of 2013. Using Adobe InDesign CC will allow integration of robust interactive and navigational features for this digital publication.
The next 4 images are from the Pocketbook for Moms, Ways to Communicate with Dad, I project I created for National Fatherhood Initiative (NFI) in early 2013. Above is the cover of the booklet
The Pocketbook for Moms is part of NFI's Pocket Guide series of educational resources. The booklets are 6.5 inches by 4 inches, small enough to fit in your pocket!
The booklet provides a quick, easily read resource for a mom to learn how to communicating with and involve the father of her children in their lives. Each section highlights different "keys" to good communication.
The key theme continues with key-hole shaped container elements for the numbered topics of the book. The implied fabric texture and repeating pattern throughout the booklet indicate an actual pocketbook.
